C01: A Private Space Design by Liang Chen

Creating a Sense of Space that Reflects Privacy and Lifestyle

The C House, designed by Liang Chen, is a unique residential project that sets itself apart with its innovative approach to space. Divided into one level above ground and two levels underground, the house features a sunken courtyard with an indoor area of about 300 square meters. Liang Chen's vision for this space was to create the ultimate private environment, stripping away all decorative elements and focusing solely on architectural space organization.

By subtracting unnecessary elements, Liang Chen adds a sense of simplicity and purity to the space. The result is a design that is both minimalistic and elegant, allowing the architecture to take center stage. The use of gold accents in the first-floor space, such as the golden western kitchen, adds a touch of luxury and artistic flair.

When sketching the design plan, Liang Chen carefully considered the spatial relationship and characteristics of the materials used. The color palette was chosen to enhance the natural texture of the materials while maintaining a sense of unity. The result is a space that balances high purity with bottom purity, showcasing the full potential of the materials.

The C House project was a collaboration between Liang Chen and a team of talented individuals, including Wang Shixue, Fu Shenglong, and Wang Hailong. Together, they brought Liang Chen's vision to life, creating a space that is not only visually stunning but also functional and practical.

Located in Anshan City, Liaoning Province, the project was launched in early 2020 and is set to be completed by the end of the year. The design process involved extensive research and careful consideration of the needs and preferences of the homeowners. Liang Chen arranged the space to include a studio for the hostess, a tea room for the male host, and a guest room. Special attention was given to the design of furniture pieces that would enhance the overall experience of the space.

The C House project presented its fair share of challenges. The height of the space required careful consideration of the beams and floor slabs, which became prominent features of the design. Liang Chen skillfully incorporated these elements into the overall composition, creating a harmonious relationship between the beams and pillars.
